“You are truly a Pan African” Says Cameroonian Delegate
Amb. Habiba Suleiman, a daughter of Auchi Sacred Kingdom who hails from Akpekpe Heritage Zone has been recognized and decorated as African Icon of Hope by the Youth Coalition for Education in Nigeria (YOCEN) on Monday at her residence in Auchi the headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The Delegates Comprising of members from across Africa handed her the Ambassadorial African Youths Award in view of her consistent contribution to the development of education at the grassroot -noting that despite her distance far away from home (being a Diasporan), despite the fact that she is not the wealthiest there is, she has continued to reach out to her home with a view to helping to drive the core functions of education through encouragement of pupils, students and staff of schools within Auchi.
Habiba who was visibly emotional expressed gratitude and appreciated the delegates for finding her worthy of the recognition and Award -noting that she is drawn to helping people not for the clout therein but because she was charitably raised by her mother.
She said that the notification for her nomination for the award came as a shock because she did not expect that her little efforts were in the eyes of the public -albeit the world.

She dedicated the award to her numerous beneficiaries and appreciated her mother in an emotional outpouring -stating that she was singlehandedly raised by her Biological mother -Hajia Princess Anikad Kadiri given that her late father transited when she was an infant.
On their part, speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Elpa Pablo Toujours, head of International Relations of Youth Coalition for Education in Republic De Cameroon commended the Awardee for her charitable disposition to life and her push for the betterment of Education at the grassroots.
While noting that many Africans are currently in better climes -having more resources at their disposal but that the most of these have not necessarily thought it wise to reach out to the less privileged back at home, he said that Habiba has shown beyond reasonable doubt that she is truly an African who is displaying the Pan-African spirit by making sure that the gains gotten from a better clime are channeled home for the greater good of her community.
Pablo said that although she may not even know who her beneficiaries are (nor do many of these beneficiaries know who their benefactor is) the reward for such investment in the education of children would yield unprecedented gains for not just the children who are the direct gainers but more so for the larger society as these children are the future managers of the world’s affairs.
The event was attended by Comr. Joseph Chukwudi, Director of Programs from Ebonyi state, Engr. M. M. Tasks, Director of General Services from Edo state, Comr. Jude Eczema Director of Actions and Mobilization from Enugu state, Hon. Jasmine Elom, South-West Coordinator and Miss Rachael Oroile, Director of Gender from FCT Abuja.
Others were family members, political associates, friends and well wishers of Amb. Habiba Suleiman.
