ABS News Network team conducted an interview with several individuals on Friday, June 14, 2024, revealing widespread dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in Nigeria.
With Eid celebrations just around the corner on Sunday, June 16, many are struggling to make ends meet.
In Auchi Sacred Kingdom, the headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area, complaints centered on the exorbitant prices of goods and commodities, making it difficult for people to prepare for the festivities.
“I’m worried I won’t be able to prepare any meals for the celebration, the cost of living is just too high,” said Mrs. Ahmedu.
Mr. Isah Abdul Hafeez from Auchi shared similar concerns, stating, “A ram costs at least ₦150,000, and essential items like rice and tomatoes are unaffordable. It’s a real struggle.”
The interviewees expressed their hopes for a better future and wished their fellow Muslims in Auchi and beyond a happy Eid celebration, despite the challenges.
