“Good Financial Management will Upscale your Capabilities as Personnel.” -Maj Gen O.O. Arogundade
The Commandant Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME), Major General Oladele Arogundade, has reiterated his dedication to imparting personnel with crucial financial knowledge, particularly focusing on enhancing financial growth, wealth creation, and agro investment initiatives in alignment with the welfare programmes established by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for Nigerian Army personnel and their families.
Major General Arogundade exemplified this commitment during the 2 days NASEME Financial Education Seminar titled _”Securing your Future through Financial Freedom,”_ which was held at the school’s auditorium from 23rd – 24th July, 2024. The seminar served as a highly interactive and informative platform for personnel to improve their welfare, career planning, and financial management competencies.
In his address, Major General Arogundade encouraged participants to approach the lectures with an open mind, emphasizing that the seminar aims to enhance their financial expertise, resource management, and accountability to facilitate a more fulfilling career life. Furthermore, he urged them to reassess their perspectives on money and concentrate on lucrative medium and long-term financial strategies in line with the business provisions of the NA, adding that good financial management will upscale their capabilities as personnel.
Throughout the seminar, the guest lecturer, Mr. Segun Aremu, CEO of Peculiar Innovative Consulting, delivered a captivating blend of practical guidance and engaging narratives encompassing essential topics such as budgeting, savings, investment, and debt management.
Armed with new insights, the participants concluded the seminar with heightened financial confidence and a revitalized sense of control over their finances. Lieutenant LK Jimoh, who spoke on behalf of the participants, expressed gratitude to the erudite resource person for the well-structured lecture and the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas. Additionally, he extended appreciation to the Commandant for initiating the programme which allowed both staff and students to benefit from this rare financial enlightenment.
