As is the tradition and professional calling of those whose responsibility it is to ‘check’ society via the watchdog function, ABS News Network seeks to on the one hand make known in clear terms what we have come to describe as a fatal flaw on the part of many who enjoy the presence of Auchi Polytechnic as either publics of the institution’s host and bordering communities or as external publics who are one way or the other affiliated to the Citadel of Higher Academic Pursuit -while on the other hand appreciating the milestone recorded in the cause of the just concluded vigorous academic exercises -exams.
Ad: Hajj2025
The loud silence that greeted the peaceful conduct of the recently concluded exams by terminal and transiting students as was conducted by management and staff of Auchi Polytechnic is quite visible to the blind in an era when flaws are hastily announced -relegating success to the abyss of ‘imperceptibility’ (pardon my use of the word which ofcourse is non-existent -describing how we pretend to ignore remarkable acts as if such have not seen fruition).
It is almost as if nothing happened!
Yes!
Nothing happened -none of the anticipated crisis conceived or perceived by conspiracy theorists saw the light of day in the days that marked day-1 to the last day of the exams.
What’s more?
No unwholesome act capable of causing panic was recorded -although many had already prepared their minds, waiting to break the reports of anticipated crisis to the listening and watching world -one that is seemingly becoming hungrier for ‘bad and perhaps FAKE NEWS.
All (the crisis) they thought would characterize the conclusion of Auchi Polytechnic’s 2023/2024 terminal exams got the pricky tip of the needle and like pressured balloons, their wishful thinking broke disappointedly while those of us who monitored the events with optimism cheered like punters whose tickets overflowed with the color green.

We saw the progress achieved during the conclusion of the School of Evening Studies Final exams few months ago -where no crisis situation was reported from within the premises of the institution (although pockets of such regrettably ignoble acts were recorded in our bordering and host communities). One week after the recently done regular exams, Auchi Polytechnic reigns in the ambience of peace.
This feat did not just dawn on us. It was through the efforts of the current administration of Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar, the Substantive Rector of Auchi Polytechnic together with his team of Administrative and Academic Staff in collaboration with Security Authorities -comprising officers of the Nigeria Police, Army, NSCDC, ESN, Members of Community Vigilante Squads and other partners and stakeholders in the task of Securing lives and properties that the Polytechnic community recorded resounding success in the conduct of the exams from start to finish without any hint of trouble recorded within and around the communities surrounding the Institution.
This is news -developmental news and we are breaking it to you because you deserve to know.
Moreso, it is the hope of parents and guardians of students for whom the institution is established that peace and tranquility greets their wards and children as well as staff of the various schools, departments and units of the institution just so that a conducive learning environment is engendered, maintained and sustained as we have now seen through the conserted, deliberate and purpose driven efforts of the Dr. S.S. Umar’s Administration.
Kudos to the Rector, Staff, Students and Security Authorities for putting up a good front for not just Auchi Polytechnic but for Auchi Sacred Kingdom and other communities around the institution.
Indeed the peace of Auchi Polytechnic is the peace of the people of Etsako West, Edo North.
Let us continue to entrench this peace and promote her derivatives for the world to see.
