Major General Oladele Olumide Arogundade, Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME) in Auchi the Headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo state has emphasized the import of capacity building beyond the four walls of the classroom in an ever evolving world where knowledge has become dynamic.

The commandant during the combined graduation ceremony of Armoured and Artillery Electronic Equipment Course 19/23, Tank Guns Maintenance Course 22/23 and Special Motor Vehicle Repair Course held on Friday the 18th of October at NASEME noted that the journey has just begun for the young graduating army officers who must continue to stay relevant in the scheme of things pertaining to their chosen courses of study and beyond.

” For this reason, it became necessary for you to be nominated for this course.
“For the past 4 months, your courses took you through rigorous academic and practical training and the knowledge gained will assist you in future responsibilities that may be bestowed on you as you grow in the profession.

” It is now left for you make use of the knowledge gained during this course and strive to be good ambassadors of the corps wherever you find yourselves.

Maj. Gen. O.O.A.commended the graduates and extolled their sense of responsiveness during the training -noting that as the young army officers graduate, they must do well to exhibit knowledge and capacity to manifest the fact that learning has truly taken place.
“If you are able to carry out these functions on your sections and units, then the time and resources expended on you here would have been justified.” He said while noting that all the young army officers have learnt so far are fundamentals required for a solid foundation in their chosen fields and reiterated the need for further learning and practice to enrich their experiences.
“I therefore enjoin you to develop the right attitude to facilitate the positive and effective use of these tools so that you can be good ambassadors of the EME Corps and the Nigerian Army wherever you find yourselves.” He said.
Highpoint of the graduation ceremony was the awarding of certificates to the graduates as well as the presentation of plaques to exceptional students who emerged overall best in theory and practicals across the courses.
On their part, the graduating army officers expressed their gratitude through the presentation of gifts -a gesture that signified their appreciation of the Commandant and Administration of the Nigerian Army School of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering.
The ceremony was attended by His Royal Highness, Lukman Momodu Odamah, Zaiki of Ikpeshi/Egbuigere Clan and some of his Palace Chiefs who came to not only grace the event but to motivate the graduating army officers towards achieving a better future beyond the training.
