Otaru of Auchi Considers Inclusion of Primary School Pupils in Auchi Day Football Tournament
Sequel to the emergence of Utsogun Primary School Pupils as football champions of Edo North in a just concluded tournament where they trashed the 1st runners up Azama Primary school 3:0 at the Auchi Polytechnic Sports Complex, HRH, Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Ikelebe III, Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom has informed all of his interest to include the category of young footballing talents in the annual Auchi Day Football Competition.
He made this remark on Sunday when the pupils and their teachers paid a courtesy visit to the Otaru-in-Council -bringing with them the medals and championship trophy.
The Education Committee chairman of Auchi Sacred Kingdom encouraged the younglings and encouraged all to support and sponsor sporting activities -noting that sports, especially football is a lucrative venture globally.
On his part, Alhaji Jim Garuba, Daudu of Utsogun Heritage Zone while corroborating the words of the Chairman of Education committee stated that he has personally encouraged the talents and noted that sports is a rewarding exercise that parents and the community should do well to appreciate in order to gainfully engage the youths and children therein.
Responding to the development, His Royal Highness, Alh. A. H. Momoh, Otaru of Auchi prayed for the continuous positive growth of the pupils who he said have made Auchi proud by clinching the coveted championship cup at their level -defeating all their counterparts at the game of football.
He revealed that he is an alumnus of Utsogun Primary School at the time the school was known as CMS and encouraged parents, community stakeholders to put in the efforts necessary to encouraging healthy participation in sports.
