Courtesy of Etsako Club 81 America, thousands of female students in schools across Edo North have been provided sanitary pads and good health and hygiene training on Monday the 4th of November.

Facilitated by Mrs. Amidat Ilegar Austine , the sanitary pads were distributed to young female students in various schools with a view to promoting menstrual hygiene and support girls’ education -ensuring they have access to essential supplies to attend school comfortably and confidently.

Etsako Club 81 Americas reached out to students in St. Angela Girls’ Grammar School in Uzairue, Fugar Mixed Secondary School in Fugar, and St. Peter Grammar School in Agenebode.

 

Speaking at one of the distribution sites, Amidat, CEO of TOWA TV and convener of Miss Afenmai highlighted the importance of the project -noting that access to sanitary products helps prevent absenteeism and boosts girls’ confidence.

“By supporting these young girls, we hope to remove one of the barriers that can interfere with their education and personal development,” she said.

 

On their part, students and staff of schools that were targeted expressed appreciation for Etsako Club 81 Americas’ efforts.

The principal of St. Angela Girls’ Grammar School explained that the gesture would have a lasting impact, as many students struggle to afford sanitary products regularly.

“This initiative shows care for our girls’ well-being, which directly affects their school attendance and academic performance,” she added.

 

Etsako Club 81 America plans to continue its outreach efforts in Edo State, focusing on projects that improve health and educational outcomes for young people.

The organization hopes this initiative will raise awareness and encourage broader support for girls’ health and education across the community.
