The Afenmai Coalition expresses heartfelt sympathy to the victims of the devastating fire outbreak that ravaged shops along Jattu Market Road in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
This tragic incident, which destroyed the livelihoods of hardworking citizens, highlights the alarming neglect of basic governance responsibilities by successive political leaders in the region. The lack of a functional firefighting service is a glaring indictment of leadership, particularly given the area’s history of producing high-ranking officials, including a two-term Deputy Governor, a two-term Governor, a member of the House of Representatives, a former Senator, and a sitting Senator.
