Promise Kept: Auchi Poly Mgt. Conducts Free, Credible 2024SUG Election
The management of Auchi Polytechnic led Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar (Rector) has successfully conducted the year 2024 Students Union Government (SUG) election in an atmosphere of calm.

Held on Saturday, the 13th of July at the Polytechnic’s Sports Complex, the SUG election recorded great compliance with the electoral rules by students as laid down by the management through the Auchi Polytechnic Electoral Committee (APECO).
As promised, a lot was done to ensure that the atmosphere was free from potentials that could lead to electoral malpractices.
Ample security was provided through the joint effort of the Army, Police, NSCDC, Vigilante and Nur Security outfit -as there visible presence deterred political actors from acts considered unwholesome.
Speaking on the outcome of the election, Mr. Sadoh Yekini, the new Dean of Students Affairs thanked the Auchi Polytechnic Rector, Dr. S.S. Umar for providing the requisite leadership and gave kudos to the students for conducting themselves -stating that the exercise would go down in history as one of the fairest SUG elections in Auchi Polytechnic.
“The election was free, fair and credible.
“Results were declared at about 6:35pm and they were acceptable by the electorates.
“There is room for improvement and we hope to improve on it come next year.” He said.
On his part, the Polytechnic Orator, Mr. Tony Ofunne who double as an election umpire during the electoral process noted that the election recorded unprecedented success as the conduct was abjudged credible, free and fair not just by management but by the students who came out en-masse to cast their votes.
