“Be Good Ambassadors of NASEME” -Maj. Gen. Arogundade Charges Graduating Students, Inaugurates 2 Courses

The Commandant Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME) Major General Oladele Arogundade has on Friday, 26th July, 2024 charged graduating students of First and Second Quarter Courses to remain good ambassadors of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Corps while exhibiting a high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duty.

Major General Arogundade gave this charge during the graduation ceremony of Armoured Fighting Vehicle Repair Course (Soldiers) and Upgrading Course 3 – 2 All Trades at NASEME auditorium. While addressing graduands, the Commandant implored them to develop a continuous interest to improve on the knowledge acquired as it will go a long way in fostering their career and also meet up with global trends of contemporary innovations and technology.

 

Equally, the Commandant inaugurated two courses comprised of the Officers Armoured and Artillery Electronics Equipment Course (OAAEEC) and Motor Vehicle Repair Course, all of 2024. He stated that the OAAEEC is designed to equip officers of the rank of captains and senior lieutenants with requisite knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of armoured and artillery weapon systems and electronics, while the Motor Vehicle Repair Course will expose students to understand the mode of operation of various vehicle components and autotronics, adding that practicals will form a bulk of the course.

Furthermore, he urged the foreign Malawian students to create good relationships with their Nigerian counterparts and adhere to the rules and regulations of the school. Also, he thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for providing the requisite resources in ensuring effective and efficient training in the school.

 

The Acting Chief Instructor (CI) Mechanical Engineering Wing, Lt Col OA Ilekendi and Acting CI Electrical Electronics Engineering Wing, Lt Col A Shuaibu outlined the projects carried out by students, such as construction of gas cylinder carrier, reviving of folk lift, and changing the aesthetic view of the Shilka pavilion.

As a mark of reward for excellence, Major General Arogundade rewarded students who performed creditably well in their respective course with cash prizes, gifts and awards. He therefore, enjoined them to maintain the tempo in their future courses and career programmes.
