I was going to do yet another epistle to detail why the Auchi Elites should join the rest of the world in clamouring for a new leadership in the governance and government of Edo State but as soon as I took my pen, I realised Auchi had lost her place politically in the scheme of things for so many reasons -Thanks to the said political Elites.
Just for mention sake, we can see that in recent times, we have made a lot of demands to reverse the ugly ecological trend in our community to no avail and there are many other importantly urgent needs of the community that still haven’t been attended simply because we have not fared well politically.
Ad: Hajj2025
To draw this Series of ‘Conscience-Pricking-Pennings’ of an Auchi Boy to a close, I am going somewhat generic in my approach to the political illness that has gripped my people and most part of the state with a view to appeal to your conscience as we prepare for the election.
Please permit me and do well to keep an open mind as you read.
This year, God has given the people of Edo State an opportunity to make good their collective political decision with a major election in view and on the premise of the retrogressive progress we have collectively made afore time.
More importantly for the people of Auchi is that through our nodal community an opportunity is birthed for the entirety of the Afemai people.
Our lands have degraded, our roads have decayed. We cannot boast of having ample power supply and our farms have been taken by aliens who take pride in inflicting painful loss on our fathers and mothers through the abductions of our brothers, sisters and children for ransom.
Education wise, how well are our public primary and secondary schools faring?
We have seen how much private resources and community effort it takes to ensure that these schools remain running.
What is sadder is that some of us have chosen to work as volunteers -teaching one or two subjects for little or no cost just so our children can learn and ascend the academic ladder.
Through private and community efforts, security and other essential services cum upgrade of academic infrastructure are provided these schools otherwise, they die out like the case of Auchi Comprehensive College and others -scattered all over Edo North.
Ad: Hajj2025
Daily, we argue back and forth about the fate of the Auchi Vigilante Squad cum Hunters -who help to comb our bushes in pursuit of criminals or in search of missing or abducted members of our communities. All these they do as volunteers (most times) when such service for people in sane societies are gainful avenues for making ends meet through working and people oriented governments.
What do we have here in Edo State?
Your answer is as good as mine -if you choose to not be blind to the current harsh realities bedeviling our state.
Over the foregoing years we have had to contend with so much but how much can we continue to bear?
We have experienced the governments of those currently justling as political juggernauts as Edo2024 electioneering season heightens and we know truly that their performance cannot be seen as what the people at the ‘Heartbeat of the Nation’ deserve.
We know how wealthy Edo state is and can be. We know the potential Edo State has for geometric progression, growth and prosperity but sadly, we have seen how those who we gave power to push and pull us up have underated our collective aspiration for greatness.
What is it?
Haven’t we done enough?
Have we not fed few politicians enough at the detriment of our collective anticipated prosperous future?
Are we not now presented an opportunity to right the above wrong?
Are we going to take this opportunity to actually right the undoings of Edo State?
Well, we have not only eaten deep into the year 2024, September stares us in the face and soon the Day will Dawn on us -a day when once again, you and I would wield the power to place in power a new Sheriff, a new Edo State Governor.
What decision will you then make?
Will you vote again for the familiar past or for a promising future?
Do you hate progress so much that you prefer those who have not done the best Edolites deserve (when they were given the chance to do so) or will you make an intelligent and love laced decision to place Edo in the Hands of the Best Amongst us?

Take the lead in pushing for a new dawn for not just yourselves but for generations unborn.
Try something new.
Vote Olumide Akpata & Yusuf Asamah Kadiri San of the Labour Party – LP Nigeria and toe a new path for Edo to be OK.
This is my humble appeal and no one has to be hurt in doing this.
