No fewer than 12 participants who signed into the free computer training scheme as put together by Umanu Ochuwa Elijah have been gifted laptops in view of ensuring that they continue to put to good use the skills acquired in the course of the 2 weeks intensive learning process that has just been concluded on Wednesday.
Held at Ekhei Girls Grammar School, the programme covered basic computer literacy, Graphics to more critical aspects like coding and the use of Artificial Intelligence as requisite skills for serving in the current times.
Appreciating all who made the project a success, Umanu stated that it was time to make Etsako Shine through the establishment of IT/ICT centers where people of Etsako extraction can either acquire digital skills or put their learning and experience to positive practices that would bring about sustainable wealth in the region.
He called on well to do Sons and Daughters of Etsako to invest in capacity building -stating that the best investment one can do is to help develop the capacity of the youths -as in doing so will the youths become well prepared for the task ahead.
A cross section of participants while appreciating the TUDI team noted that although they initially thought it was not a serious thing, it has now dawned on them that truly, TUDI means well and has proven beyond every reasonable doubt that it stands for the progress of the Etsako people.
They called on community Stakeholders, public and private institutions as well as government authorities across all levels to complement the efforts of TUDI Africa by establishing Tech Centers across the various communities in Edo North with a view to ensuring that youths are gainfully engaged -a development they described as the perfect solution to crimes.
The concluding part of the programme was colourful and beneficiaries could not find good enough words with which to express gratitude for the level of transformation they have enjoyed as a result of the new knowledge they are now exposed to.
