A cross section of staff and students who spoke to The Community’s Eye about the establishment of the E-learning center and the transitioning of Auchi Polytechnic from the practice of Pen-on-Paper to the conducting of Computer-Based Exams noted that the system is laudable and encouraged management to ensure that such is replicated across the other 2 areas of the institution for a full blown CBE exercise.
Dr. (Mrs) E.B. Oduntan, Director of Management Information System (MIS) lauded management for the enablement of the system to run CBEs -noting that over a hundred computers are currently running.
She said that all the resources (human and material) needed for running the E-learning center are performing optimally and encouraged management to set in motion a full blown CBE system through the establishment of more E-learning centers to make the examination exercise faster, seamless and more efficient.
On their parts, Mr. Mustafa Asekhamhe and Mr. Isah Abdulazeez both staff from the Department of Mass Communication corroborated the MIS’ director’s view.
“The Pilot CBE exam kicked off this morning at the Apostle Suleiman CBE Center.
“So far, the conduct of the exam both on the part of the invigilators and the students has been great.
“The students are coordinated and the performance of the systems is top notch -making the exam smooth and fast without hitches” Said Mustafa Asekhamhe.
For Mr. Isah Abdulazeez, “it is a seamless process and well coordinated exercise.
” The network is very fast and the atmosphere is very conducive.
“The CBE is a very welcome development. ”
